Welcome to The Giving Athlete. The goal of this site is to promote the “good” in athletes. What you will find here are stories of athletes who devote their time, energy, money, resources, etc. in order to give back to the community. In a society nowadays where negative news appears to always be the news, a majority of the hard work of some of these athletes [many who do not perform these acts of kindness just for the display of public image] goes unnoticed. As a result, this overshadows the good work athletes are doing in the community.
.) Promote the positive things athletes and athletic organizations are doing within the community.
.) Create a central meeting place on the worldwide web where fans and sponsors can see what their favorite athletes are doing within the community and how they too can get involved.
.) Athletes can see what other athletes are doing within the community, thus they can network and assist other athletes with their causes and encourage other athletes to pursue their own causes.
.) Ultimate goal of The Giving Athlete is to keep you informed of all the positive works athletes are involved in.
