This is the reason why I started The Giving Athlete! Stories like this one. Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker LeMarr Woodley heard that the Saginaw public school system (Saginaw, Michigan) instituted a $75 fee to participate in sports this school year. What did Woodley do? He donated $60,000 to the school system. Didn’t even think twice about it!
Woodley is a product of the Saginaw public school system. Woodley said, “It’s just something that needed to be done.” That statement says it all. Stories like this one aren’t the Lead Story on your late local news, but they are definitely the focus of The Giving Athlete!
