It was another successful Hangout Day for The Stars of Tomorrow Foundation. This year a new event was added to the mix, a celebrity basketball game. The charity game was held at North Miami Beach Senior High School on Friday night July 20th. Talking to the guys the day after the basketball game they admitted that they were nervous, but everything went well. As a matter of fact better than expected. The first ever charity game went into double overtime! Who won? The winners were the kids, the parents, and the rest of the community.
The actual Hangout Day was held on Saturday, July 21st at Mishcon Park in North Miami Beach. Hangout Day is a unique concept in which the community is invited to just simply do just that, hangout! While hanging out, the public was encouraged to give blood and also get tested (the ongoing campaign “know your status and get tested” for HIV). Kids were provided with backpacks filled with all the tools they will need for the upcoming school year. There were also football and cheerleading camps for the kids. The day ended with everyone feasting and afterwards burning away calories dancing to music. Overall a great weekend for the 3rd Annual Hangout Day.
