Miami’s “Big 3″ are scheduled play a charity basketball game at FIU (Florida International University). Rumors have been swirling on the internet and also via twitter for a couple of days last week and it has finally been confirmed that Lebron James, Dwyane Wade along with a long list of other NBA All-Stars will play in a charity All-Star game on Saturday. October 8, 2011.
LeBron James along with some other NBA players are trying their best to remain connected with the fans by playing in various leagues and charity games during the NBA lockout. Thus they came up with this idea and brought it to the attention of NBA Hall of Famer and current Head Coach of the FIU Golden Panther Basketball team, Isiah Thomas. According to the Associated Press, Isiah Thomas said that he was “overwhelmed” that the players decided to make the charity game in the benefit of his late mother.
It is being reported that among the players who will possibly participating in this all-star game are: Chris Paul, Amar’e Stoudemire, Rajon Rondo, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Mario Chalmers, John Wall, and others who haven’t confirmed their participation yet.
Tickets to the game are already sold out! Tickets went on sale Monday. Fans began lining up outside of the R. Kirk Landon Fieldhouse [where FIU's ticket office is located] some 16 hours before.
